After the pap test, the most popular cytological exam in the world is urinalysis. In fact, urinary cytology represents a significantly increasing diagnostic reality, second only to cervico-vaginal cytology.
The lack of standardized indications that regulate the reporting phase in the urinary field, however, increases the confusion around this type of examination.
The standard of reporting in this area is provided by TPS (The Paris System), a working group that has devised a standardized reporting system that includes specific diagnostic categories and cytomorphological criteria for a reliable diagnosis of high-grade urothelial carcinoma. However, this reporting system, which follows the guidelines of The Paris System, is not yet very widespread.
The Congress of Urinary Cytology organized by the Auxological Institute of Milan has the specific objective of providing appropriate updates on The Paris System, born with the intention of creating a common and detailed line in urinary cytological reporting.
WorldConnex as a company active in the field of new technologies in medicine and partner of important projects in this area, has enthusiastically welcomed the opportunity to support the Auxological Institute in this project: this collaboration aims to offer sector operators innovative technologies and skills and effective for a better diagnostic approach.
